GAME OF THE WEEK:

It was another electric pitching performance from the Quad Cities' staff in last Friday's 3-0 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. After beating Wisconsin the night before, Swing pitchers Eddie Degerman, Shaun Garceau, and Kenny Maiques combined on a five-hit shutout, Quad Cities' eighth of the year. Degerman pitched four innings, striking out five and lowering his ERA to 1.29. Garceau (5-4) earned the decision with four scoreless innings and gave way to Maiques, who picked up his second save in as many nights by pitching a perfect final frame. Jared Schweitzer's sixth home run of the season, a two-out solo blast, came in the sixth inning of the victory. Chris Grossman also drove in a run.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Infielder Jared Schweitzer started off the second half of the season by hitting .333 in four games against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. In the series, Schweitzer went deep twice with five runs scored and three RBI. Schweitzer, predominantly a second baseman, has been playing first since the call-up of Brandon Buckman. The 6'1" righthander from Alberta, Canada, is hitting .387 against lefties this season and is a perfect 3-for-3 as a pinch hitter.
