JetHawks' Brad Correll Earns California League Player of the Week Honors

Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - JetHawks outfielder Brad Correll's California League-tying four home run performance on Saturday, June 23 almost single-handedly earned him the league's Player of the Week award for June 18-June 24. This marks the fourth time this season a JetHawks player has taken the honor.

The 26-year old outfielder recently joined the JetHawks after being signed by the Boston organization out of the independent Northern League and has played just seven games with the club. This honor recognizes the time span of Correll's first homestand as a JetHawks player after having his contract sold to the Red Sox by the independent Kansas City T-Bones. Correll has already hit seven home runs with his new team.

For the week, Correll hit a whopping .429 (6-24) with six home runs, one double and ten runs driven in. Eight of those RBI came during the four home run game, breaking a JetHawks franchise record.

Prior to Correll's honor, outfielder Bubba Bell had won the award twice and first baseman Aaron Bates once. Former JetHawks infielder Brian Barden won this week's AAA Pacific Coast League's honor by hitting .652 with two home runs and eleven RBI for the week.

Great tickets for most JetHawks home games are available now. Contact the JetHawks box office by phone at (661) 726-5400 or online at www.JetHawks.com.
