Vancouver Giants News Release

The 2007 Memorial Cup Champions Vancouver Giants congratulate forward KENNDAL MCARDLE on signing his first NHL contract with the Florida Panthers. Terms of McArdle's agreement with the Panthers were not released.

McArdle has completed his 4th season in the WHL. After being acquired in a trade this past season with the Moose Jaw Warriors, McArdle went on to have a tremendous playoff run leading the entire league in goals with 11 in 22 games. At the Memorial Cup, McArdle had two goals and two assists in five games. In addition to winning a national championship with the Giants, the 19 year-old Burnaby, B.C. native won a gold medal for Canada at the World Junior Championships in Sweden.

"Kenndal has developed into one of the premier forwards in our league over the past few seasons," says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. "He brought his game to another level the last couple of months for our team and he certainly deserves everything he has received this year. We wish all the best for Kenndal as he pursues his career as a professional next season."

Over the last four years, McArdle appeared in 261 WHL regular season games, scoring 92 goals and 111 assists. In 59 career playoff games, McArdle had 21 goals and 21 assists.

McArdle was drafted 20th overall by the Panthers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
