RiverHawks offer free tickets to Billboard Bash businesses

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks are a marquee attraction. After checking out signage in front of local businesses over the next several days, you may agree.

Today, the RiverHawks announced their Billboard Bash Promotion. From Thursday through next Friday's home opener, the team is offering two free Opening Night tickets to any business which posts "Go RiverHawks" or a similar message on their roadside marquee or message board.

Business owners and managers interested in participating are asked to take a picture of their 'Hawks-themed signage and email it to playball@rockfordriverhawks.com. Businesses will receive a voucher for the tickets.

One business will win a pair of 2008 season tickets.

The home opener, 7:05 p.m. May 25 against Windy City, will be the biggest Opening Night in team history. Not only will fans be treated to postgame fireworks, courtesy of FatWallet.com and WIFR, but early arrivals will receive a fifth-anniversary logo lapel pin courtesy of Mincemoyer Jewelry and Cumulus Radio, a bonus Miller Lite, 104.9 - the X Dollar Beer Night, a first-pitch military flyover and a visit from Miss Illinois 2006.

The RiverHawks are the Western Division champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 15th season in 2007. The RiverHawks begin their sixth season on May 23 at Windy City. The home opener is at 7:05 p.m. May 25, when the RiverHawks host Windy City.
