Padres Recall Justin Hampson, Option Mike Thompson

PORTLAND, Ore. - The San Diego Padres today recalled Portland left-handed pitcher Justin Hampson and optioned right-handed pitcher Mike Thompson to the Beavers.

Hampson, 26, was 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA (1er, 6.0ip) in six relief appearances to start the season with Portland. He recorded four strikeouts while holding opponents to a .190 batting average in his six innings. In five career major league appearances (1 start) with Colorado (2006), Hampson is 1-0 with a 7.50 ERA (10er, 12.0ip).

Thompson, 26, was 0-1 with a 7.84 ERA (9er, 10.1ip) in five games for the Padres this season. In parts of two seasons with the Beavers, Thompson is 10-3 with a 3.48 ERA in 22 appearances (all starts).

The Beavers' active roster is at 23 players.
