JetHawks Lose in 12 Innings 1-0

(LANCASTER, CA) - Out of 11 JetHawks games in 2007, eight have been decided by just one or two runs. It happened again Sunday afternoon in San Bernardino. The 66ers got an RBI ground ball in the bottom of the 12th inning to beat the Lancaster JetHawks.

The game was delayed 40 minutes due to rain. When the finally got the game started, both pitcher's dominated. JetHawks ace Michael Bowden went 5.2 scoreless frames and was perfect until allowing a hit in the fourth. 66ers pitcher Miguel Pinango struck out nine batters in his six shutout innings.

Lancaster had numerous opportunities to take the lead as the game wore on. Iggy Suarez tripled with one out in the eighth but was left at third. Zach Daeges opened the ninth with a double but was left at second. The JetHawks also got runners aboard in the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth without scoring.

The JetHawks continue their road trip Tuesday night in Visalia against the Visalia Oaks. Daniel Bard (0-0, 14.54) pitches for the JetHawks, while the Oaks will send up Dallas Buck (1-0, 3.27). The game starts at 6:30 and will be broadcast on radio at Magic 1340 and online at www.JetHawks.com with the pre-game show beginning at 6:15.

Lancaster will return home to Clear Channel Stadium Friday, April 20 against the Inland Empire 66ers.
