Victory Field concessions get major faceliftApril 3, 2007 - International League (IL) Indianapolis Indians
"These concession enhancements will make for the biggest change at Victory Field since the ballpark opened (July 11, 1996)," Tribe Vice President & General Manager Cal Burleson says. "We have been honored to carry the mantra of 'Best Minor League Ballpark in America' for many years, and this aspect of our operation will now arrive at an equally high level with these improvements."
The permanent concession stands have undergone a complete facelift in the past month. Fans will now be able to enjoy themed food concepts with new menu options and improved signage. Spicy chicken sandwiches, steak & chicken burritos, quesadillas, Italian & meatball subs, pizza-by-the-slice and build-your-own burgers will be available throughout the 2007 season.
The themed concession stand concepts include Ballpark Favorites, Build-A-Burger, Backstop Grille, Home Run Grille, Bullpen Pizzeria, Corona Light Cantina and Rowdie's Ice Cream Shoppe. The Build-A-Burger stand gives fans the opportunity to create their own burger or chicken breast by selecting from 20 different toppings.
New portables are also part of the project. Fans will be able to enjoy freshly-popped popcorn, grilled hot dogs, brats and Italian sausage at locations throughout the concourse.
The Indians and ARAMARK will also be adding a new right-field picnic area during the season. The right-field bleachers have been removed to make room for the "Coors Light Corner," which is scheduled to open May 28. The left-field picnic area is still open for groups of 50 or more.
Victory Field concession prices are consistently lower than any other professional sports venue in Indianapolis. Many of the Tribe's popular items -- hot dogs, grilled chicken sandwiches, peanuts and Cracker Jack -- will have no increase in price this year.
For a third consecutive season, the Monday Dollar Menu will be offered at Victory Field. Hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, popcorn and potato chips will be available for just $1 each during each Monday night game during the 2007 campaign.
