Bulldogs announce Clear Day roster

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League announced their 2006-2007 Clear Day roster today, which consists of 20 skaters and two goaltenders.

According to AHL by-laws, only the players listed on a team's Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the AHL regular season and in the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of injury, recall or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts after Clear Day, but only once their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

The Bulldogs' Clear Day roster consists of 13 forwards, seven defenceman and two goaltenders.

Forwards: Ajay Baines, Kyle Chipchura, Matt D'Agostini, Jonathan Ferland, Mikhail Grabovski, Andrei Kostitsyn, Maxim Lapierre, Francis Lemieux, Corey Locke, Eric Manlow, Duncan Milroy, Zack Stortini, Cory Urquhart

Defencemen: Andrew Archer, Andre Benoit, Mathieu Biron, Jean-Philippe Cote, Danny Groulx, Dan Jancevski, Ryan O'Byrne

Goaltenders: Yann Danis, Jaroslav Halak

Players in Residence but not on Clear Day list: Mathieu Aubin, Troy Bodie, Jimmy Bonneau, Cedrick Desjardins, Jon Gleed, Michael Lambert, Philippe Sauve

A player in residence can be used during the remainder of the regular season or the playoffs if a member of the 22-man roster is injured, recalled or suspended.

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, March 2nd at Bradley Center in Milwaukee when they battle the Admirals at 8:00 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, 820 CHAM "The Legend," beginning with the Park's Furniture Pre-Game Show at 7:40 p.m. Fans can also listen or watch at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com by clicking on the 'B2 Networks' or '820 CHAM' icon on the 'Dogs website.
