Bonvie receives CCM AHL Milestone of the Month Award

WILKES-BARRE, PA - Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Dennis Bonvie has been named the recipient of the CCM AHL Milestone of the Month Award for the month of February, it was announced today by the American Hockey League.

Dennis Bonvie appeared in his 800th American Hockey League game on February 23 at Binghamton, tying Dave Creighton for 26th place all-time. The Penguins' forward, who already owns the AHL's all-time record for career penalty minutes (4,228), also picked up his second goal of the season in the 5-4 victory against the Senators.

The 14-year veteran appeared in career game 802 on February 28 against the Senators, moving him into a tie for 25th place on the league's all-time list with Mitch Lamoureux. Bonvie is second among all current AHL players in games played, trailing only Binghamton Senators defenseman Terry Virtue (865).

Bonvie has recorded 82 goals 183 assists in his AHL career. The native of Antigonish, N.S., played in the first modern AHL All-Star Game in 1995, and reached the Calder Cup Finals with Hamilton in 1997 and with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2001.

Bonvie has also skated in 92 career National Hockey League contests with Colorado, Ottawa, Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Edmonton.

In recognition of earning the CCM/AHL Milestone of the Month, Bonvie will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wilkes-Barre/Scranton home game.

Bonvie also continues to move up the Penguins' all-time games played list, and now ranks tied for 11th with former Penguins forward Matt Murley at 216 games.
