Pistons Assign Blalock and Johnson to Skyforce

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., February 27, 2007 - The Detroit Pistons announced today that they have assigned guard Will Blalock and reassigned forward Amir Johnson to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
There have been 20 NBA players assigned to D-League affiliates this season. Twenty-six (26) NBA teams have taken advantage of the assignment system by designating 49 players to D-League affiliates since the start of the 2005-06 season.
Blalock, a rookie guard from Iowa State, has appeared in 13 games this season averaging 1.8 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12.5 minutes per game. He scored a season-high five points in 18 minutes at Philadelphia (1/9). Drafted 60th overall in the 2006 NBA Draft, Blalock begins his first-stint in the NBA Development League.
Johnson, a second-year forward, appeared in four games this season averaging 1.0 points and 1.3 rebounds in 5.3 minutes. He played in three games for the Pistons last season averaging 6.7 points and scored a career-high 18 points at Milwaukee (4/17/06).
Drafted 56th by the Pistons in the 2005 NBA Draft as an early entry from Westchester HS in Los Angeles, Johnson averaged 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in six games with Sioux Falls during an earlier NBA D-League assignment this season.
