Royal Knights lose home opener

Toledo, OH. The ABA Toledo Royal Knights welcomed the Buffalo Silverbacks in the newly revamped teams's first home game of the 2007 season. The Knights played before a large crowd of cheering Toledo fans who welcomed the team back. Unfortunately, they lost to a strong Buffalo Silverbakcs team in a heated battle, 152-138. Leading the team in points were Coco Caufield with 47 and Lionel Armstead with 35.

The first home game also featured half-time performances by the Libbey High School Dance Team and Minneapolis Hip Hop artist Real Talk. The game also featured the debut of the Knights new theme song, "It Goes Down," performed by SlumLord Music Recording artist and Toledo native STR8 Caine.

The fans were treated to free CD's and t-shirt giveaways sponsored by the new Sony film, "Stomp the Yard," with distribution and team host duties being performed by the Hot Girlz of Ebony World Productions.

The Knights staff and players invite Toledo basketball fans to come out to the next home game against the Twin City Ballers at Central High School Fieldhouse on January 19th at 7pm. Tickets are $10 adult, $8 senior, $5 student and all elementary age students are free with paying parent or guardian.
