Texas Tycoons News Release

Dallas, TX - The Texas Tycoons took their pain out on the Waco Wranglers on Friday night at the Desoto Town Center, defeating Waco by the score of 140-92. The Tycoons players were told right before tip off that they had slipped from #5 to #6 in the ABA Power Rankings due to the margin of victory in their last game, a 17 point triumph over the same Waco Wranglers. With that message in hand the home team went about dispelling any myths about the type of team they were and systematically dismantled the visiting team.

For Waco, who was outscored by at least 10 points in every quarter, Mike Reed had 19 points and 7 rebounds to go with Jonathan Maxwell (5'10''-G), who had 18 on the night. Vincent Bridgewater (6'8''-F/C-77, college: Tarleton St.) did his part en route to 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Eight players finished in double figures for the Texas Tycoons, ten players had 9 or more, with Donnie Beacham (6'5''-F-81, college: Texas Arlington) leading the way to a balanced effort of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Randall Williams (6'8''-C-82, college: Tarleton St.) had 16 and 10, Brandon Lee (6'3''-G, college: Tarleton St.) was on fire in the third connecting on 4 of 6 three pointers en route to his 14 on the night, Jerome Rogers (5'10''-G-81, college: N.Texas) and Josh Gonner (6'2''-G-82, college: S.Carolina) had 13, Benny West (6'3''-G-82, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Howard Payne) and newly acquired Jai Pradia (6'6''-F-79, college: Pittsburg St.) 12, Bryce May (6'7''-F-82, college: Mc Neese St.) 11, Tyrone Rayson (6'6''-F-80, college: East Central) and Oneal Mims (6'10''-F-82, college: Angelo St.) both contributed with 9 points, Mims also adding 13 rebounds.

Spurned by a 46 point third quarter, the Texas Tycoons (13-4) win their fourth straight, pulling away from the Waco Wranglers early and often, winning convincingly 140-92. The 4th quarter replay and wrap-up show is broadcast on Dallas's SouthBound Television Channel 27 at 10:30pm CST. The broadcast is complete with interviews and highlights featuring your Texas Tycoons. Next up for the Tycoons is the Monterrey Veneno who come to Dallas's Mountain View College on January 6th, tip off is scheduled for 7pm.
