Flying Aces grounded for 2007

December 20, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Rapid City Flying Aces News Release

The Rapid City Flying Aces announced today that they will not be fielding a team for the 2007 season. However, they are looking forward to a successful 2008 season.

Officials at R.C. Arena Football, the organization that owns the team, said that they simply ran out of time to get their "ducks in a row" so they could join the United Indoor Football association (UIF). They felt that joining the UIF was the only route for the team to succeed, so they are putting all their energy into getting things ready to play with them in the 2008 season.

The Aces went 11-3 during the last regular season and went on to win the division title. They were eliminated from the playoffs by the Billings Outlaws, who eventually took the National Championship.

One important thing to note is that all those who have already bought season tickets for next year's Aces games, or put a deposit on a corporate box, will be receiving a full refund from the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. They can contact the civic center at 605-394-4111 or stop by to arrange their refund.

Anyone interested in being a part of the Flying Aces should contact them at 716-ACES.
