Silverados unveil logo

October 20, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release

McAllen, TX. After a much anticipated waiting period, the ABA RGV Silverados finally unveiled their team logo and received an overwhelmingly positive response. The team, scheduled to begin play in November, 2007 presented the logo to the media and city officials. The design was created by an innovative team from Del Rio Advertising.

After the press conference, the Mayor of McAllen was presented with an official ABA game ball by team president Art Gonzalez. City Mayor Richard Cortez was extremely cooperative and excited to have a first glimpse of the organization that is bringing such an excellent product to the Rio Grande Valley. The media shot footage, took photos and participated in a Q & A session. The questions asked ranged from ticketing and sponsorship opportunities to community involvement and scheduling.

"The outlook seems very bright for our team and the organization," said Mr. Gonzalez, remaining true to the overall feel of the participants of the news conference. Kevin Mitchell, team VP added, "This is a new day for the valley. We are committed to bringing top level basketball to our area. The residents of the Valley deserve this and we are ready to provide affordable, family fun and top flight hoops for basketball fans far and wide."
