Frenzy re-signs key returnees

October 11, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) Cape Cod Frenzy

Orleans, MA. The ABA Cape Cod Frenzy have re-signed Boston Frenzy players Rob Sanders, Ifesinachi Anosike, Korran Rivers and Basil Wajd. These four signings are in additional to recently announced signings.

Rob Sanders, a 6-7 forward from New London, CT teamed with Boston Celtics forward Ryan Gomes on the 2003-2004 Providence College team that went 20-9 and earned a #5 seed in the NCAA tournament - and upset a #4 ranked Connecticut Husky team loaded with five future NBA first round picks.

Koran Rivers is a 6-6 guard/forward from Montreal Canada who played his college ball at Merrimack College and played professionally in Austria. With the Frenzy, he averaged 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game off the bench last season.

Ifesinachi Anosike, nicknamed "Ife," is a 6-11 center who started the entire season for the Frenzy last year. He averaged 10 point, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks. He played college ball for the Salem State Vikings.

Basil Wajd, a 6-5 swingman, played only 4 games last season and filled in as a power forward in spite of his size - and played well for the undersized team. Basil was a teammate of Frenzy forward Korran Rivers at Merrimack college and is the step brother of Frenzy guard Rashid Al-Kaleem.

The Frenzy's roster now stands at eleven players. A ten day training camp begins on October 23rd and it will be held at Willy's Gym in North Eastham. For more information, contact Frenzy GM Ian McCarthy at ian@capecodfrenzy.com or visit www.capecodfrenzy.com or www.abalive.com.
