Steelheads announce 2006 training camp schedule
September 7, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
BOISE, Idaho - Idaho will welcome in a decade of hockey when players report to Steelheads training camp on October 3rd. The 2006-07 camp will run through October 8th at Qwest Arena, then move to McCall's Manchester Ice and Events Centre on the 9th, ending with two pre-season games on October 13th and 14th against the Victoria Salmon Kings.
McCall's Whitetail Club and Resort will host the Steelheads during their stay. Steelheads head coach and director of hockey operations Derek Laxdal believes that getting the team away to the mountain town provides a great opportunity for team building. While there, the team will have a chance to bond on the golf course at Whitetail and on the mountain biking trails at Tamarack Resort.
"We are very excited to bring training camp back to McCall and want to thank the Manchester Centre and Whitetail for their hospitality," said Laxdal. "We're looking forward to a competitive camp this year with a lot of young talent we're bringing in and we'll be ready to go right off the hop."
Tickets for the two pre-season games can be purchased now by calling 208.634.3570 or by visiting the 650-seat Manchester Centre. Prices are $13 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under, and children under three years of age get in free. The games against the Salmon Kings begin at 7:30 pm. All Steelheads practices are free and open to the public.
