Wildcatters Add Rookie To The Mix

Beaumont, TX (September 7, 2006) The Texas Wildcatters Hockey Team, ECHL affiliate of the AHL's Houston Aeros, is pleased to announce the signing of Colin Nicholson. A forward, Nicholson begins his professional career in Southeast Texas this season with the Wildcatters.

Nicholson, 23, played four years at Lake Superior State University. In his college career, he played in 117 games, scoring 25 goals along with 22 assists for 47 points. A native of Dartmouth, NS, Nicholson is 6'2, 195 lbs. Prior to college, Nicholson played for the Central Junior Hockey League champion Senators and participated in the Canadian Nationals in 2001-02.

Wildcatters Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron is familiar with Nicholson and knows he will play many roles for the Wildcatters this season.

"Colin is from my hometown. He is a good, solid responsible guy. He is big and has good hands," said Cameron. "Colin will play a multitude of roles for us. I am excited to have him join the hockey club."

The new-look Wildcatters open their third season on October 20 at Florida, before returning to Ford Arena for their home opener on October 28 against the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
