Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON, TX- (Monday, August 28, 2006) - The Houston Dynamo fell for the second time in the last 3 games, losing 3-1 to Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center on Saturday.

Chivas put itself ahead on the board at the 8th minute, thanks to a good individual play by Jonathan Bornstein. The Dynamo tied the game at the 27th minute, after Chivas goalkeeper Preston Burpo downed Chris Wondolowski inside the box. Dwayne De Rosario scored on the penalty kick.

Ricardo Clark was ejected for violent conduct at the 31st minute, forcing Houston to play with 10 men for the remainder of the game. The disadvantage paid off for Chivas, who took the advantage once more at the 45th minute, thanks to a solid header by Ante Razov. Razov scored his second of the night at the 57th minute, while De Rosario also scored once more at the 67th minute.

De Rosario had a clear possibility of scoring the tying goal for the Dynamo, in what appeared to be a trip inside the box by defender Jason Hernandez. Referee Alex Prus, however, decided to keep the ball alive, in what turned out to be Houston's 7th loss of the season.

Houston (9-7-8) remains second in Western Conference standings, with 35 points. Dallas still leads with 39.
