Bill Murray immortalized on Miracle bobble-head giveawayJuly 3, 2006 - Florida State League (FSL) Fort Myers Miracle
Murray, a lifetime Cubs fan and part owner of the Miracle, will be donning a Gray Harbor Loggers jersey on his bobble-head. During the summer of 1978 Murray joined the Loggers for one day. The cast of Saturday Night Live was asked to find something to do they've always wanted to do and for Murray it was play professional baseball. Murray joined the independent team in Gray Harbor, MA where he knocked in a couple of runs during his one day stint.
"This is something that is a long time in the making" said Miracle General Manager Steve Gliner. "Bill didn't just want to do a bobble-head to do a bobble-head and this was a great way to honor him for his service, as not only as part owner of the Miracle, but for his amazing career as a ball player."
