Medley Signs with Oilers

June 23, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

The Tulsa Oilers latest signing has coach Butch Kaebel whistling a happy tune.

Defenseman Matt Medley has agreed to terms with the Oilers for the 2006-07 season. Medley is coming off a solid season with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.

The 23-year old, 5-foot-11, 193 pound blueliner appeared in all 64 games for Rio Grande Valley last season. He was the leading scorer among Rio Grande Valley's defensemen with 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points. He also led the entire team with a +14 rating. Six of his 13 goals came on the power play.

"Matt's a good skating puck mover. With the current rules, that's very important. Kaebel said. "He's also a power play specialist, and we know he can help us there."

Medley is no stranger to Oilers assistant coach Dan Hodge. The two were teammates with the San Angelo Saints in 2004-05.

Oiler season tickets for the 2006-07 season are now on sale. The prices are the same as the 2005-06 season, ranging from $300 to $475. The Oilers have also instituted an automatic payment plan to make purchasing season tickets even easier and more convenient. Also new this year is a 10 game flex pack. For more information call the Oilers at (918) 632-7825.
