Suns offense wakes up for 5-2 win

Lakewood, NJ:Oh did the Suns need this one. After scoring two runs in 23 innings of play over the weekend, the bats came alive for 12 hits in a 5-2 win on Monday.
Nick Evans started the scoring with a solo homer, his fifth of the year, to lead off the second inning. An RBI single by Castro in the seventh finished the scoring. Castro went 3-4 with a sacrifice bunt and stolen base. Starter Jonathan Niese (5-0) moved into sole posession of first place in wins in the league with his fifth victory of the year after going six innings, his longest of the year. Niese gave up just two runs.
Hagerstown (13-17) comes home to face Lake County on Tuesday at 6:35pm on Senior night, where 60 years and up gets in for just $2.00. Righties Ryan Meyers for the Suns and Jim Deters for the Captians square off Tuesday in game one of three. The Suns face Lakewood the last three games of the six game homestand.
