Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds Owner Herb Washington announced today that Joe Gregory has been named the SteelHounds General Manager. Gregory recently served as the Director of Business Development for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (one of the Cleveland Indians single ‘A' minor league affiliates) and previously spent three years as Coordinator of Sales and Marketing and Coordinator of Tournament Operations for the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic.

"I am very excited to have a local, home-grown person on board to lead the SteelHounds organization through the end of our inaugural season and into the 2006-07 campaign," said Washington. "Joe has a tremendous work ethic and already is an outstanding member of our community with an impeccable reputation. I am confident his presence with the SteelHounds will further establish the organization as the premier franchise in Northeast Ohio."

Gregory graduated with honors from Youngstown State University, with a B.S. in Marketing Management and attended Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown. His family has both ties among the local community and in the world of professional hockey. His father Paul is the Development Director for Cardinal Mooney High School and his brother Marc is the Executive Director of Marketing for the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets.

On November 17, 2005, Gregory was honored by the Mahoning Valley Professional 20/30 Club as a member of its first-ever top 40 professionals under 40 group.

"I look forward to the opportunity to join such a fine organization as the SteelHounds and to work for a great owner in Herb Washington," said Gregory. "I hope to bring the knowledge and experience I have gained in professional sports and use it to build on the outstanding first year the SteelHounds have enjoyed and help the team move forward in the future as one of the top franchises in the Central Hockey League."
