Williams named to CBA All-Defensive Team

Sioux Falls, SD (March 15, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association announced today that joining Felix on the CBA All-Defensive Team are Albany forward James Thomas, Gary forward Randy Holcomb, Sioux Falls guard Corey Williams and Rockford center Kenyon Gamble.

Felix averaged a league-high 2.0 blocked shots per game in his 41 games played for the Sioux Force, finishing with 80 blocked shots. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward averaged 7.0 rebounds and just under one steal (0.8) per game. Felix finished with 15.7 points per game while shooting 54.4 pct. from the field and 81.8 pct. from the free-throw line.

Thomas was named the CBA's Newcomer of the Year this season after signing with Albany on Dec. 23, 2005. He played in 19 games for the Patroons while earning a 10-day call-up by the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 27. The 6-foot-8 forward registered 17 double-doubles this season, averaging 19.6 points and 14.6 rebounds to go along with 12 blocked shots and 12 steals. Thomas played in this year's 22nd CBA All-Star Classic on Jan. 17 for the Eastern Conference squad, scoring 17 points with a game-high 16 rebounds in 35 minutes of action.

Holcomb appeared in 34 games for Gary in his first CBA season, averaging 7.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals with 25 blocked shots. He also chipped in 19.2 points per game and was named the 2006 CBA All-Star Classic MVP after scoring 20 points with 13 rebounds, two blocked shots and one assist.

Williams is another first-year CBA player that made an impression. The Sioux Falls guard was fifth in the league with 2.0 steals per game while averaging 5.8 rebounds. In 27 games, Williams averaged 14.2 points and 9.8 assists with a league-best three triple-doubles (points/rebounds/assists).

Gamble was a one of 11 draft picks from the 2005 CBA College Draft to play this season. All the 6-foot-11, 230-pound center did was lead the league with 84 total blocked shots (1.8 pg.) with 4.0 rebounds per game and 21 steals. Gamble also finished second in the league in field goal percentage (63.2 pct.) while averaging 3.8 points.
