January 21, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Montreal Royal News Release

Montreal, Canada. The ABA Montreal Matrix were unable to extend their win streak to five when they lost 90-89 to the powerful Rochester Razorsharks, the Connie Hawkins division leaders, in a thrilling contest at the Pierre-Charbonneau Centre. The near capacity crowd enjoyed an exciting game where both teams repeatedly exchanged the lead throughout the second half.

"It was an intense match that easily could have ended differently," said Matrix center Jones Pierre. "We could have liked to give our fans a win; they were very loud throughout the game," he added.

Manix Auriantal had a strong game for the Matrix collecting 27 points and hitting 3 out of 4 from 3-point range. The Matrix record now stands at 8-10. The team will look to rebound next Friday, Jan 27 as the team hosts the Baltimore Pearls at the Pierre-Charbonneau Centre.
