Nighthawks Continue to Develop Outstanding Talent

January 13, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maryland NightHawks News Release

Rockville MD - It is with great pride and some sadness that the Maryland Nighthawks announce that All Star guard, Randy "White Chocolate" Gill has signed a very big contract with Guaiqueries de Margarita. The team plays in the top division in Venezuela. "While we are sad to see Randy go, this is part of our responsibility as an ABA franchise, to assist players to move into the NBA or assist them to obtain lucrative contracts in other countries" said Nighthawks owner, Tom Doyle. "Randy has been a tremendous asset not only on the court but in bringing national attention to the Nighthawks and the ABA. He will be missed but we will continue to be a dominate force in the league. Randy is now the third Maryland Nighthawk player to pen a lucrative deal with an overseas team. Last year forward Curtis Yarbrough was signed to play in the top division in Denmark and this fall forward Jason Williams was the top draft pick by Henan and now is staring in the Chinese Basketball League. The Maryland Nighthawks are committed to developing our players for great basketball careers." stated Doyle.
