Corrente, Daniels Earn Spot on Top Prospects Squad

A pair of Saginaw Spirit players will represent their squad at the CHL Home Hardware Top Prospects game in Ottawa January 18th. Spirit defenseman Matt Corrente and goalie Ryan Daniels will join other Top players from the 56 team CHL.

"We are very proud of both Matt and Ryan," said Spirit head coach and general manager Bob Mancini. "Both are very deserving to be named to the roster. We're excited that they'll be representing our team and our community in Ottawa."

Corrente is a 17 year old native of Mississauga, Ontario. He has 5 goals, 19 assists and is +8 in 34 games with the Spirit this season. He was Saginaw's first round pick, second overall in the 2004 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. Daniels is a 17 year old native of Pickering Ontario. He is 12-6-0-0 with the Spirit in 18 games, with a 3.96 goals against average and a .891 save percentage. He was Saginaw's third round pick, 48th overall in the 2004 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.

The Top Prospects game features the top CHL talent being scouted for the coming year's National Hockey League draft. Former Spirit defenseman and captain Paul Bissonnette represented Saginaw in the 2003 Top Prospects game and earned the Team Orr MVP award.
