Adams earns call to AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush, along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman John Adams has been called up to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Adams is expected to be in uniform for the Falcons' game on Friday night vs. Manchester.

Adams heads to the AHL for the first time in his professional career after picking up 10 points (1g, 9a), 35 penalty minutes and accumulating a plus-9 rating in 22 games with the Everblades this season. The 23-year-old signed with the Everblades on November 10 and scored his first pro goal on December 17 at Columbia.

Prior to turning pro, Adams spent four seasons at the collegiate level with the Boston College Eagles. The native of Wayzata, Minnesota earned 29 points in 136 career games at Boston College. Following his freshman season with the Eagles, Adams was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round of the 2002 NHL entry draft.

The Everblades return to action Friday, December 30 when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena. Everblades 2005-06 group tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now!
