Condors Open 2005-06 in Style with Exciting Win

Kevin Kotyluk recorded three assists and Mike Hofstrand scored the game-winner late in the second period as Bakersfield picked up the win in their season opener. The Condors opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period and drove Victoria starting goaltender Rob Muntain from the game before the Salmon Kings scored 3 unanswered goals to tie the game. Hofstrand's goal with 3:57 left in the 2nd period gave the Condors the lead for good, and Kevin St. Jacques's goal made it 5-3 Condors midway through the 3rd.

The Condors (1-0-0) are in second place in the Pacific Division after one game. Fresno leads the Pacific at 2-0-0.
Notes from the Nest
-The Condors had three multiple-point scorers on Saturday night: Kevin Kotyluk (3 assists), Scott Basiuk (2 assists) and Mike Hofstrand (1 goal, 1 assist).
-Davis Parley earned the win, making 22 saves on 25 shots.
-The upcoming series at Alaska will be the only trip to Anchorage of the regular season.
-8,263 fans attended the home opener, which was the fourth-largest crowd in Condors history. Saturday's crowd was also the largest ever for a Condors home opener, and the largest crowd of any ECHL game so far this season.
-Bakersfield currently leads the league in average attendance (8,263).
