Reading would answer back with a power play goal of their own when Shay Stephenson circled around the Titans' net and fired a shot past Stirling at 16:36 to make it 3-2 in favor of Trenton.
Another 5-on-3 helped the Titans go back up by two tallies as Dustin Sproat snuck a backhander past Rudkowsky's left skate with 1:09 left in the stanza.
In the final period Stephenson's second goal of the contest, at 14:10, cut the Titans' edge to just one goal, but Pittman potted an empty-net goal with just .5 seconds remaining to complete the hat trick and close out the game. Stirling stopped 37 of 40 shots to record the victory as Rudkowsky turned away 32 shots from the Titans.
