Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- The Bakersfield Condors today announced the signing of goaltender Davis Parley and forward Rob MacGregor.

Parley, 23, re-joins the Condors after being brought to the team late last season, filling in for the injured Yutaka Fukufuji. Parley arrived via trade from the Texas Wildcatters, where he played in 27 games with a goals against average of 3.50 and a save percentage of .916. The Surrey, British Columbia, native started six regular season games for Bakersfield last year and put up a save percentage of .922 during that span. Due to Fukufuji's injury, Parley was forced to start all 5 games of the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs Western Division Semifinals against the Alaska Aces. Parley performed above and beyond normal duty, starting games on consecutive nights when the team traveled from Alaska to Bakersfield to play that evening.

Parley played his junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. In four years with the Blazers, Parley compiled a win-loss record of 80-61-10 and went to the playoffs each year. He recorded a goals against average of 3.06 and a save percentage of .908 in Kamloops and was selected by the Florida Panthers in the fourth round of the 2000 NHL Draft.

MacGregor, 22, appeared in 9 games with the Victoria Salmon Kings last season, scoring a goal and recording four penalty minutes. The Richmond, British Columbia, native spent much of his junior hockey career with the Portland Winter Hawks of the WHL. From 2001 to 2003, MacGregor made 63 appearances with Portland and scored four goals with eight assists.

Other notes: Andrew Oke has been removed from the active roster due to health issues.

The Bakersfield Condors regular season opens in 24 days on October 22nd at home against the Victoria Salmon Kings. The Bakersfield Condors Open House and Family Day will take place at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center on Sunday, October 9th from 2-5pm. Admission is free with the donation of two canned food items for the Salvation Army Food Pantry.
