Mallards Complete Trade with Trashers

Moline, IL- Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that defenseman Donny Grover has been traded to the Danbury Trashers in exchange for future considerations. Grover will begin his first full season of pro hockey this fall in Danbury.

After being selected in the North American Draft last season by the Mallards, Grover appeared in six regular season Mallards games. He recorded three points (a goal and two assists) during his regular season stint in the Quad Cities. During the Mallards playoff run, Grover appeared in three games and was held scoreless.

"Donny wanted to play closer to his home in Massachusetts," said Curran. "We did our best to accommodate his request, and we wish him well in the future."

Mallards season tickets are on sale now. Fans that purchase tickets by September 30th will have their season ticket price locked in for as long as they continue to renew their season seat. For each season ticket sold before the September 30th deadline, the Mallards will contribute $100 to Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities. The Mallards open the 2005-06 season on Friday, October 21st in Flint vs. the Generals. The 11th home opener in franchise history is slated for Saturday, October 22nd vs. the Motor City Mechanics. Keep checking qcmallards.com for updated news on all team events.
