Trashers acquire rookie defenseman Donny Grover from Quad City

DANBURY, CT-The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League, have acquired defenseman Donny Grover in a trade with the Quad City Mallards in exchange for future considerations, it was announced by Team President A.J. Galante.
Grover, 22, appeared briefly for the Mallards last season after he completed his collegiate career with Northeastern University, where he tallied a total of 30 points on seven goals in 144 games. He set a career high in points during his senior season with 12 on two goals in 38 games.
Standing at 6-1 and weighing 205 lbs, the Rockland, MA native scored three points on one goal in six regular season games, while he also appeared in three playoff contests for Quad City. Grover will rejoin Paul Gillis, the former Mallards skipper who is now the Head Coach for the Trashers.
The Danbury Trashers will open their second season in the United Hockey League on October 21st in Port Huron, with the home opener scheduled for Friday October 28th against Elmira at the Danbury Ice Arena starting at 7:30pm. A complete schedule is available online at http://www.danburytrashers.com.
