Sea Wolves season plans unknown
September 1, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release
PRINCETON, N.J. The ECHL announced that the status of the Mississippi Sea Wolves hockey team for the upcoming season is still unknown. The league has been monitoring and will continue to monitor the situation, but communication is very difficult.
Our thoughts and prayers are with not only the Sea Wolves staff, players and fans, but all of the people who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina, said ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna. We encourage ECHL fans to donate and provide whatever support that they can to disaster relief. Most charities are requesting financial donations rather than goods or clothing. This enables them to use the funds within the communities that are most affected. To make a donation to the American Red Cross you can visit http://www.redcross.org or telephone 1-800-435-7669 or 1-800-HELP-NOW.
The ECHL and its clubs are exploring other initiatives to assist in the relief effort and with the Sea Wolves specifically.
