Ramirez blanks the Power

Salisbury, MD - Luis Ramirez was 1-1 with a 2.60 ERA against the Power this season, and on Saturday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland, he threw a complete game shutout as the Shorebirds went on to beat the Power by the final score of 6-0.
The Shorebirds plated the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the second inning on a two out, two run single from Paco Figueroa to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the third inning Jason Fransz delivered an RBI double and Brian Bock smacked an RBI single to give the Shorebirds a 4-0 lead. Arturo Rivas knocked in Jake Duncan on an RBI triple in the bottom of the eighth inning and Rivas scored later in the eighth when Brian Bock delivered his second RBI single of the game. Ramirez allowed five hits, walked one batter, and struck out eight batters in his complete game shutout.
Luis Ramirez (4-4) earned the victory, and Greg Kloosterman (3-11) obtained the loss. The Power fall to 3-6 in the second half with the loss and the Shorebirds improve to 6-3 with the win.
The Power will conclude the series against the Delmarva Shorebirds at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Power will throw right-handed pitcher Forrest Martin (1-4, 4.93) and the Shorebirds will counter with right-handed pitcher Dennis Robinson (2-7, 5.54). The first pitch is scheduled for 1:35 PM.
