EVENT: COMCAST-SPECTACOR PROVIDES HEAT RELIEF TO SENIORS
PHANTOMS MASCOT PHLEX TO DISTRIBUTE FREE FANS TO SENIORS IN SOUTH PHILADELPHIA
DATE: Friday, June 10 at 3 p.m.
PLACE: Philadelphia Senior Center, Broad and Lombard Streets, Philadelphia, PA
DETAILS: Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm, is providing heat relief to the elderly by distributing free fans at the Philadelphia Senior Center (Broad and Lombard Streets). Standing on the back of a truck, Philadelphia Phantoms mascot Phlex distributes fans to elderly hoping to cool down during this week's heat wave.
Earlier this morning, Philadelphia Senior Center ran out of fans and funds and was looking to continue providing relief to the seniors. Comcast-Spectacor heard their plea and being an active community member, jumped at the opportunity to assist.
Phlex will be busy today as the Phantoms are one win away from capturing the American Hockey League's Calder Cup. The Phantoms will host the Chicago Wolves in Game Four tonight at the sold-out Wachovia Center. The Phantoms lead the best-of-seven series, 3-0.
