RiverKings take part in CHL Spring Conference

SOUTHAVEN--- The 2005 Central Hockey League Spring Conference begins tomorrow in Phoenix, Arizona and members of the Memphis RiverKings front office and hockey operations staffs will be among the nearly 400 representatives from teams, partners and affiliated companies in attendance.
The conference gets underway with Governors Meetings on Thursday morning. Several topics including playing rules, operational issues and alignment will be discussed. Issues that are expected to be ratified for the upcoming season include a 64-game season and the return to 18 as the maximum number of dressed players a team can have per game.
The conference will also include breakout sessions for the different areas of team operations. There will be meetings for communications, hockey operations, merchandise, ticket sales, corporate sales and facilities.
The expansion Youngstown Steelhounds will participate in an expansion draft on Saturday morning. They will select a maximum of five players from a pool of players left unprotected by the other C.H.L. teams.
The conference wraps up with the annual C.H.L. Awards Banquet Saturday evening.
