Somerset Patriots sign pitcher Nick Stocks

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Nick Stocks.

Stocks has experience in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, including a season at the Triple-A level and three seasons at the Double-A level.

He was the first round draft pick of the Cardinals organization in the 1999 draft and was the 36th overall pick.

Stocks has a career 4.62 ERA with 395 strikeouts in 495.1 innings pitched in 125 games going into this season.

Stocks began the 2005 season at the Double-A level for Springfield, where he appeared in eight games this season.

Stocks has been activated for Saturday night’s game against the Camden Riversharks.

The 2005 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, June 3rd when the Patriots return to Commerce Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks. The game includes Baseball Card Strips (Series 2) for the first 2,000 fans in attendance, courtesy of Stop & Shop.
