Riders take four on defence with final four picks in CFL College Draft!

21st overall Matt Kudu DL Eastern Michigan

30th overall Jean Olivier Gagnon-Gordillo DE Eastern Michigan

39th overall Dustin Cherniawski DB UBC

48th overall Ryan Gottselig DL Saskatchewan

With their third round selection (21st overall), Saskatchewan Roughrider head coach Danny Barrett selected defensive lineman Matt Kudu. The Eastern Michigan product appeared in 46 games and totaled 152 defensive tackles. The 23-year old also had 20.5 tackles for losses and 10 quarterback sacks.

The Riders went back to Eastern Michigan in the fourth round (30th overall) and took defensive end Jean-Olivier Gagnon-Gordillo. Gordillo has spent the past four years at Eastern Michigan. In 2003, the 24-year old dressed in nine games and picked up six quarterback sacks.

In the fifth round (39th overall), the Riders selected UBC defensive back Dustin Cherniawski. Cherniawski was selected to the Canada West All-star team after he stood out in the UBC secondary with 34 tackles and two quarterback sacks.

For their final selection in the sixth round (48th overall), Saskatchewan stayed close to home and took U of S Hsukie defensive lineman Ryan Gottselig. Last season Gottselig started in 12 games and finished the year with 39 defensive tackles and five quarterback sacks. He was also a 2004 CIS second-team All-Canadian and was named a 2004 Canada West first-team all-star.
