Walker keeps Rockford in championship hunt

Rockford, IL- For the second straight playoff series, the Lightning found themselves down two games going into the third game at the Rockford MetroCentre. The Rockford Lightning got exactly what they needed, as Jermaine Walker led the Bolts to a 116-107 victory to force a fourth game.

Both teams kept it close throughout the first half of the ball game, and the Skyforce held a 56-54 lead at the half. Rockford started the second half strong, and led by six after the third. Sioux Falls attempted to make a comeback, but had free throw shooting troubles, only making 19 of the 33 they attempted during the ball game. The Lightning were led by Jermaine Walker, who led all scorers, going 15-of-30 from the floor for a total of 38 points. Stais Boseman also chipped in 26 points for the night, and Brian Lubeck narrowly missed a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Cordell Henry added 10 points to the Lightning total, including a dunk in which the 5-10 point guard soared over three Sioux Falls defenders to put back a missed shot. Jerome Beasley led the Sioux Falls charge, as he scored 22 points for the Skyforce in the loss.

The two teams will now square off in Game Four at the Rockford MetroCentre on Saturday, April 2. Game time for this primetime matchup is slated for 7:35 p.m., moved from the original start time of 7:05 p.m. for those who wish to catch the Illinois-Louisville game in the NCAA Tournament semifinals.
