Rockford Lightning News Release

Sioux Falls, SD- Game Two of the 2005 CBA Finals on Tuesday night was everything that basketball fans could ask for. That is, if you're a fan who likes high scoring basketball games. Rockford and Sioux Falls posted a combined 282 points in the game, and the Sioux Falls Skyforce came out on top, defeating the Lightning 150-132.

Rockford trailed for most of the game, and at one point in the second quarter trailed by 23 points. They cut the lead down to nine, but Corsley Edwards converted on a three-point play opportunity with five seconds left to give the Skyforce a 12-point halftime lead. Rockford gained a little momentum in the third after Jerome Beasley was ejected for a flagrant foul on Stais Boseman with 8:27 left in the third quarter. But, the Lightning weren't able to come any closer than eight points, and Boseman also got ejected for the second straight ball game with two minutes remaining in the fourth after receiving his second technical foul.

Cordell Henry had a big night for the Bolts, as he led Rockford with 29 points, shooting 12-for-20 from the floor. Jermaine Walker chipped in 20 points, Marshall Phillips added 19 points, and Jermaine Tate had another double double, scoring 18 points and leading the way with 10 rebounds. Brian Lubeck dished out eight assists to lead the Lightning in that category. David Bailey, who earned a triple-double with 35 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, paced Sioux Falls.
