Skyforce capture game one of finals

Sioux Falls, SD- The CBA Finals series between Rockford and Sioux Falls began Monday night before 3004 fans at the Sioux Falls Arena. Unfortunately, it didn't start out like the Rockford Lightning would have hoped, as the Skyforce took the early series lead. Sioux Falls got a pair of 25-point performances, and edged the Bolts in Game One, 119-112.

Rockford trailed for the majority of the ball game, including deficits of 15 points, but rallied back, outscoring the Skyforce 62-58 in the second half. Marshall Phillips scored 24 points, and he led the Lightning in the ball game. Jermaine Tate added 23 points to the Lightning total, and earned himself a double double with 11 rebounds as well. Livan Pyfrom led the rebounding category for the Bolts, as he hauled down 13 boards in the contest. Brian Lubeck added 16 points; Stais Boseman chipped in 15 points and six assists, and Jermaine Walker added 14 points for the ball game. Corsley Edwards and Jerome Beasley, who each scored 25 points in the ball game for the Skyforce, helped Sioux Falls to the Game One victory. The two teams will meet again at the Sioux Falls Arena tonight, for a 7:05 p.m. start.

After tonight's game, the teams will travel, and make their way to Rockford for Games Three and Four. Game Three takes place this Thursday night, March 31, at the Rockford MetroCentre. Come out and cheer on the Lightning in the 2005 CBA Finals, as they play for the championship. All kids 12 and under with a paying adult will be half-price tickets.
