Milwaukee Wave United News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) The Milwaukee Wave organization, parent organization of the Wave indoor (Major Indoor Soccer League) and Wave United outdoor professional soccer teams announced today that Wave United will continue playing during the 2005 outdoor season although not in the A-League as it has the past two seasons.

“It’s important that we keep the team together with an exhibition schedule and evaluate our options for 2006 and beyond,” said Wave Managing Partner Charles Krause. “We look forward to welcoming many fans to what we anticipate will be a very exciting exhibition season.”

“With our indoor season potentially going through the end of May and the A-League schedule beginning in late April, it’s extremely difficult for our outdoor team to prepare properly,” said Milwaukee Vice-President of Soccer Operations Keith Tozer. “I’m still very excited about continuing outdoor play this summer and keeping our presence in the outdoor market.”

Wave United will not compete in the A-League during the upcoming season as the Wave organization focuses its efforts in developing an appropriate business model for upcoming seasons. Instead, Wave United plans to host exhibition games against international, MLS, and other opponents at Uihlein Soccer Park this summer.

“We feel these changes will enhance our overall operation as we strive to remain at the forefront of organized soccer in the state of Wisconsin,” stated Wave Chief Operating Officer Mike Lafferty. “We look forward to providing many more years of professional soccer entertainment in Milwaukee.”
