Ottawa Lynx News Release

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Lynx and Baltimore Orioles announced today that they have signed a two-year Player Development Contract where the Lynx will continue to be the Triple-A affiliate of the Orioles through the 2006 season.

"We've had a terrific relationship with the Baltimore Orioles over the past two seasons, and we are excited about moving forward as their Triple-A affiliate."

said Kyle Bostwick, the Ottawa Lynx General Manager.

This is the 12th season in Lynx franchise history. Ottawa was the Triple-A Affiliate of the Montreal Expos for their first 10 years, before spending the last two years as Baltimore's top affiliate.

Player development contracts between Major League franchises and Minor League affiliates can only be signed in two or four-year terms. In addition to re-signing on with the Lynx, the Baltimore Orioles also announced that they re-signed two year deals with Double-A Bowie, Single-A Frederick, and Single-A Delmarva.

The Lynx are currently in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where they will play the third game of a four game road trip tonight. Ottawa, who have won two straight against the Red Barons, returns home on Friday for their final homestand of the 2004 season. The Lynx homestand will feature three games against Rochester, two games against Scranton, and three games against Buffalo.
