Serbus To Work 2004 United States Under-17 Select Team

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announce that Ice Pilots Head Athletic Trainer Jason Serbus of NovaCare Rehabilitation has been selected as the athletic trainer for the 2004 United States Under-17 Select Team which will compete in the 2004 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, to be held August 24-28 in Halle a.d. Saale, Germany.

The United States will face Under-17 Select Teams from the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland. Last August the U.S. Under-17 Select Team captured the championship with a 3-0-1 overall record at the 2003 Five Nations Tournament in Slovakia, marking the second consecutive title performance in the event.

Serbus, who won the 2003 Athletic Trainers Association of Florida Trainer of the Year in Professional Sports, will begin his fourth season this year as the Ice Pilots head athletic trainer. He represented the Ice Pilots this past season at the ECHL All-Star Game as the head trainer for the Western Conference and helped the Tampa Bay Lightning during training camp last year. Serbus is 29 years old and lives in Gulf Breeze with his wife Paula.

"I am very blessed to be selected to join Team USA in the Five Nations Tournament. It will be exciting to return to Germany with many of America's best ice hockey players in the U-17 division," said Serbus.

The Ice Pilots under new Head Coach Dave Farrish will begin the 2004-2005 regular season at Mississippi on October 23 and play their home opener Saturday, October 30 vs. the Kelly Cup Finalists Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.

Season tickets for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $649.44, side seats are $459.00, goal seats and lower upper seats are $411.84 and upper seats cost $324.00. 16 game plans, 8 game plans and flex packs also are available.
