CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Free tickets to attend one of the longest running county fairs in the state of Iowa will be given away before tonight’s Kernels baseball game at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The first 1,000 fans 12-over through the gates will receive free tickets to the 152nd Great Jones County Fair. The fair will be held in Monticello from July 21-25. The regular cost of tickets is $8. Children 12-under are admitted free.
Also, one lucky fan will win two tickets to one of the four headline acts – the Beach Boys, Clint Black with Gretchen Wilson, the Grand Ole Opry American Road Show ’04 featuring Vince Gill and Patty Loveless, or Chubby Checker & the Wildcats – playing the fair.
The Kernels host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers tonight at 7. Gates open at 6 p.m.
The Veterans Memorial Stadium ticket office opens at 10 a.m. Tickets also can be purchased by calling 896-7560 or on the KernelsÂ’ website at www.kernels.com.
