Fisher Cats home win streak snapped at 10

Manchester, NH- Third baseman Tommy Watkins and catcher Rob Bowen hit solo homers as the New Britain Rock Cats topped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-1, Wednesday night at Gill Stadium in Manchester. New Britain snapped New Hampshire's six game winning streak.

Watkins hit his 2nd homer of the season off starter and loser Cam Reimers (7-4) with two outs in the second inning to give the Rock Cats a 1-0 lead.

New Britain took a 2-0 lead in the 6th. Shortstop Seth Davidson was hit by a pitch, and advanced to third on a single by second baseman Luis Maza. Davidson scored on left fielder Matt Scanlon's ground out.

Bowen led off the 7th against Reimers with a long homer to right field to extend the lead to 3-0. In the 8th, New Britain's Kevin West doubled off reliever Travis Thompson, scoring Maza, who had singled.

Rock Cat starter Henry Bonilla (6-5) did not allow a run until the 8th, when center fielder Justin Singleton hit his 10th home run.

Singleton also came up with two on in the 9th inning, but reliever Pat Neshek struck him out in earning his 2nd save.

The Fisher Cats and Rock Cats finish the five-game series with a matinee Thursday at 12:05 p.m. Right hander Jon Pridie (3-5) will start for New Britain and right hander Ryan Houston (3-1) will start for New Hampshire.
