Jackson's Hoffpauir sold to Texas Rangers

Durham, N.C. -- Jackson's Josh Hoffpauir was sold to the Texas Rangers on June 30 to become the fourth Central Baseball League player purchased this season. He will report to Stockton, Calif., the home of the Ranger's Single-A affiliate. Hoffpauir is the 18th CBL player to appear on an affiliated team's roster this season.
Hoffpauir was hitting .269 with 54 hits, 36 runs scored, 13 doubles and 20 runs batted in for the Senators this season. In addition, he has stolen 11 bases and hit three triples in first season in the CBL.
Originally signed as a free agent by the Oakland Athletics in 2000, Hoffpauir played three seasons of minor league baseball before signing with Jackson in the off-season. The highest level he reached was during the 2002 and 2003 seasons when he played for Bowie, Baltimore's Double-A affiliate, of the Eastern League.
