Calgary Hitmen News Release

The Calgary Hitmen have selected Forward Roman Tomanek as their 1st Round (4th overall) pick in the 2004 CHL Import Draft.

Tomanek was recently selected in the 4th Round (103rd Overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes. He was highly touted in this year’s NHL draft as he was ranked the 30th International Skater by NHL Central Scouting, following his performance at the U-18 World Hockey Championships in Belarus. Tomanek was the leading goal scorer in the tournament and led the Slovakian team in points.

“He’s a natural goal scorer who is going to be a threat every time he touches the puck” noted Hitmen Head Scout Brad Whelen.
