Seals Prepare for Big Weekend

June 29, 2004 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Florida Seals

Independence Day weekend will be a busy one this year for the Orlando Seals. Representatives from the team will participate in parades at Hunter's Creek and Celebration this Saturday. The Seals will also manage a booth at the Hunter's Creek community carnival, complete with an appearance by Sealvester.

The Seals participation in Hunter's Creek is one of many planned activities with the community over the coming year as part of a new partnership with West Creek Elementary School. As part of the relationship between the Seals and West Creek Elementary, the team plans to implement many programs to encourage excellence among students, such as their Ready to Read program, as well as support school programs such as the Principal's Award for outstanding students. Members of the West Creek Elementary PTA will march with representatives from the club in the Independence Day parade proudly displaying Seals shirts in support of the partnership.

Seals Coach Jim Paek and General Manager Chris LiPuma will join the Waronker family Saturday for a parade in Celebration. The parade will begin at Columbia and work its way through downtown, and ending on Sycamore Street. This will be the second year that the Seals have been represented at the event and the team hopes to continue to be a part of the Celebration community for many more years.

The Seals are currently accepting season ticket applications for the 2004-05 season. For more information call the Seals at (407) 447-PUCK (7825).
