Portland Reign News Release

Portland, OR. Mary Liss, CEO of the ABA Portland Reign, today announced the hiring of the professional basketball team's first Assistant Coach and Trainer, Phil Garver. According to Liss, "Phil brings an extraordinary amount of coaching knowledge and skill to The Portland Reign as well as commitment to the organization as a whole, and a unique sense of personality that our team will enjoy."

Garver grew up with basketball in Indianapolis, IN, the home of the original ABA. He migrated to Oregon where he went on to accept coaching responsibilities with Clackamas Community College following his playing days and graduation from Warner Pacific College. He is the former Head Coach at Marshall High School in the Portland Interscholastic League.

Liss added, "Phil's passion for the game of basketball and his nostalgia for the red, white and blue ABA basketball makes Phil a great addition to The Portland Reign."
